What is an IBC bund or IBC spill pallet?
An IBC bund is a secondary containment system placed under an IBC container to collect any leaks or spills. These systems are essential for the safe storage of hazardous substances and meet environmental regulations that stipulate that storage facilities must be leakproof. They are often made of chemically resistant polyethylene or steel and can support single or double IBCs.
Why is secondary containment important?
Using an IBC bund or spill pallet is crucial to prevent environmental damage and to comply with regulations on the storage of hazardous substances. These systems ensure that any leaks do not reach the environment, which can prevent both environmental damage and financial penalties. Under international standards a containment system must be able to hold at least 110% of the volume of the largest stored container.

The buffer tank retains a reserve volume so that there is enough time left to replace the IBC without production downtime.
